Am I a friend of Christ?  What kind of friend am I? Christ is the best kind of friend.  The kind that forgives a million slights and long stretches of silence.  We walk away for years at a time and he seeks us.  All we do is ask him for stuff and get angry when he gives us what we need.   

Could we be a friend like he is?  Could we forgive a million times a day like he does?  Can we love the unlovable?  To be his friend we are called to at least try to do all this and more.  We will fail over and over but by trying we give others hope and by asking forgiveness when we do fail we give others courage.  All he asks is that we try and never give up trying.  

Gaze at Christ on the Cross.  Be with him, thank him, consider how you have failed him,  see what he is asking you to do.  What can you do for him?  Look around you, where do you see him?
